The newest evolution of the Cara Cara is the Cara Cara2 with a G-10 handle. It has a full-flat ground high performance 8Cr13MoV blade. Shaped like a “comet” the hole in the blade symbolizes quality and careful manufacturing tolerances. On the blade's spine is a group of crosshatching called jimping. Jimping enhances the thumb's grip on top of the blade making cutting slip-resistant. Available for the first time with a four-way clip that carries tip-up/tip down or left/right-handed, it attaches inside a pant's pocket where it rides deep and confidently. A finger choil enhances the ergonomic G-10 handle adding comfort and control. Mid-positioned back lock has a David Boye cut away dent, a safety feature allowing the handle to be tightly gripped without unintentionally releasing the lock.
The Cara Cara2, a compact and lightweight folding knife from innovative cutlery company Spyderco, has been reengineered to include a full flat-ground blade for enhanced edge geometry and cutting precision. Other updates and improvements include a proprietary Bi-Directional Textured FRN handle, for improved grip and control, and phosphor bronze pivot washers for smooth blade operation. Similar to the prior model, the Cara Cara2 retains spine and choil jimping and a four-position clip for a variety of carrying configurations. Skeletonized nested handle liners add strength while keeping weight to a minimum, and screw-together construction is both sturdy and easy to clean and maintain.
The 8Cr13MoV steel blade has a comet-shaped hole, and the jimped crosshatching alone the spine helps the thumb's grip on the top of the blade for precise, comfortable, nonslip use. A finger choil enhances the ergonomic stainless steel handle, and the mid-positioned back lock has a David Boye cut-away dent, a safety feature allowing tight gripping without accidentally releasing the lock.
Sypderco knives include a limited manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Details are included with your purchase.
Thinking beyond established knife industry practices has allowed Spyderco to introduce new innovations, including one-hand opening, serrations on a folder, and a clip to attach a knife to a pocket. Spyderco remains dedicated to researching and developing improved, better-performing materials with function and reliability, and its unique cutlery line is a result of designing ergonomic, functional tools. The company puts its new products through rigorous testing prior to release, examining edge retention with a CATRA machine, looking for rust development with Q-FOG, checking the force needed to open and close a knife, and analyzing numerous other technical details.
